PUBPAT Launches Software Patent Watch to Keep Software Community Informed of Patent Related Issues

NEW YORK -- September 14, 2006 --  The Public Patent Foundation ("PUBPAT") launched the Software Patent Watch earlier this month to provide the software community with information regarding patent issues, in general, and about individual patent threats, specifically.  PUBPAT's Software Patent Watch addresses topics including pending and issued software patents, patent lawsuits involving or related to software, software patent disarmament, legislation impacting software patents and commentary.

"Since patent offices around the world are continuing to  issue more and more software patents every year, it is undeniable that patent issues will for at least the near future have an increasing impact on the development of software," said PUBPAT's Executive Director, Dan Ravicher.  "As such, it is imperative that the software community be provided with as much information about software related patent issues as possible."

The Software Patent Watch can be found at http://pubpat.org/softwarepatentwatch.
